The non-profit award recipient selected at the second meeting of the 100+ Who Care of Warren County was the Warren Metro Residence Council or the Homework Club.

Their missions is, “serving children through education, arts, sports, outdoor leadership and other enrichment programs.”
The Warren Metropolitan Housing Authority provides a unit for the supervised use of the children living in the East Ridge complex. Monday through Thursday the children are greeted with snacks when they arrive from the bus, and then provided with any help and assistance they may need with their school studies. Those who achieve a 3.0 or better are rewarded with various extracurricular activities. In previous years when we had very large anonymous donor we were able to make weekly ski trips to Perfect North. An annual canoe trip has been occurring for many years. Many of the kids have been able to spend time at Camp Joy in the summer. Several have gone on to be counselors at Camp Joy.
